During the router setup process, you will be prompted to enable Home Network Defender. At that time, you will be given the option of starting a 30-day trial, or purchasing an annual subscription.

In addition to the protection on the Linksys by Cisco router, how many computers can be protected by Home Network Defender?
Home Network Defender is designed to protect your Linksys by Cisco Router gateway, and up to four (4) PCs on your network.
If I choose not to install Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware on my home computers, does Home Network Defender still protect my network?
Yes, the router protection is active. As long as your trial or your product subscriptions are current and active, your router and network are protected with WebThreat Protection and URL Filtering, whether you install TREND MICRO ANTIVIRUS PLUS ANTISPYWARE on your home computers or not.
What if I want to activate the security protection on my Linksys by Cisco router, but don’t yet want to activate the ‘end-point’ Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware solution, or replace my existing end-point security software on my PC?
You can always install Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware on your home computers at a later date.
